AdSense Earnings Going Through The Roof!

Not long until I can give up the day job now (I made 40p yesterday!) ....

By the way - this new version of Blogger is *very* cool in some respects.
I was able to copy and paste the screen shot above from Paint Shop Pro without having to save it or upload it - very neat.....

Photos-For-You.com Progress...

I have *almost * got an acceptable layout for my theme now. OK - it doesn't look very pretty - but the layout looks OK on modern browsers (with the exception of the sharebar plugin which is steadfastly refusing to work with the YAPB plugin).

Have also started uploading some photos I have lying around on my hard drive (Have 37 images uploaded so far). Will keep adding some old images every day as new posts well as working at the theme and looking at adding some more 'pages' and / or galleries rather than just blog posts.

I have no doubt that I am not going about this in the most efficient way - but as someone wise once said - it is better to make a start / do something badly rather than to wait until everything is perfect....

Still a fair bit of mucking about with Wordpress before I get the layout exactly right, but here is my first coast photo uploaded to

A New Photos Web Site

Since irishviews.com has been sold, I am starting out on a new photos web site project.

Here is my progress so far

Done:

  1. New domain bought - photos-for-you.com
  2. Wordpress installed on new domain (the default template on Wordpress is actually quite pretty these days...)
  3. New version of Paint Shop Pro purchased and installed (maybe Photoshop is better - but I don't have time to learn how to use it! :-).
  4. Old camera sold.
  5. YAPB plugin installed and AdSense configured to appear above and below photos.
  6. One photo uploaded!

To Do:
  1. Buy new camera. (This is the hardest bit as there is so much choice!).
  2. Muck about with themes and plugins for Wordpress a lot more.
  3. Take more photos.
  4. Upgrade my bandwidth allowances on my broadband .
  5. Upload photos.
  6. Watch money roll in :-)

    Medium To Long Term Aims:
    1. Earn more than £100 month from AdSense using my own photos.
    2. Persuade lots of talented photographers to allow me to use their photos on this web site in return for a share of the AdSense revenue.

It is still very early days, and any feedback from any other photographers, as always, would be greatly appreciated.

Any photographers interested in making some money from their photos?

I'm in the very early stages of planning a new photo web site.
Considering how well irishviews.com did with regards to AdSense revenue (something like £300 a month) when it had a limited number of mostly average photos on it, I think there is huge earnings potential for a photo web site that gives away decent quality photos from lots of talented photographers.

There are already sites that do this, like http://freerangestock.com but I don't think they do it anywhere near as well as it could be done.

This would be a really big, time consuming project - so unless there were a substantial number of photographers out there that think this is a great idea, then I'll probably create another photo web site with just my own photos on it (which are mostly pretty average). If about 50 people comment below saying "definitely - I am jumping at the chance - and I I have over 1000 superb quality photos I don't mind giving away" then I'll definitely consider it :-)

    Google Images

As many of you will know, a large part of my AdSense income came from Google Image Search traffic.

For anyone thinking about harnessing this type of traffic - here is a recent question and answer session on it at on Reddit - http://t.co/x1Bwdr4.
