Photos-For-You.com update (25 of 1373 or so..)

'Related Posts' plugins for Wordpress are a great idea. Especially so when we are talking about photos and finding similar photos without having to search for them.

Bearing this is mind, I installed

I then had to generate all the post thumbnails which took the best part of an hour or so (which didn't work - which is my fault as I failed to understand the difference between a post image and a YAPB image)

For about the fifth time since I started this project, I wished that I was good php programmer, as I would have hacked the plugin to use YAPB to generate the post thumbnails properly... But I'm not. So I didn't...

So currently I am stuck with displaying a static image in 'related posts' e.g.

If I could get image automatically inserted from YAPB, I would be really thrilled with this set-up, as (obviously) the 'related posts' are generated automatically. On my last photo web site www.irishviews.com I had a similar section at the bottom of each page - but each related link and thumbnail had to be inserted manually into the html of the page, which was a major pain in the arse!


Total time taken = approx 6 hours! (and about 5 hours of that wasted as I didn't fully understand what I was doing).
(If I had a 'featured image' on each post it would have taken a maximum of one hour)
