More Photos-For-You.com Progress...
The new photo web site has now been up and running for 7 days.
AdSense Earnings for the last 7 days are £3.20! (Yay!)
There is still a hell of a lot of work to do, but the job up to this point has been made *so* much easier than it would have been by the following amazing pieces of software :-
Thanks to these amazing inventions, I now have 1,707 images added to the site as individual blog posts. The names, categories, and tags etc are very far from perfect, but this is entirely my fault for not labelling my photos properly with PICT info and/or not retaining the EXIF info when I originally saved them (take note anyone else who is thinking of doing the same...)
Now, I just have to buy a new camera, start taking new photos and upload them to the site (correctly labelled this time).
I'm not sure how long it will be before any of the images get picked up by Google, but I'm not holding my breath. Going by previous experience, it can take something like 3 months for an image to be picked up by Google Image Search, but it'll probably be longer in this case, as photos-for-you.com is a brand new web site. If I start to get some traffic before the end of this year, I'll be happy...
Here is a wee photo from the new site :-

Congrats on getting the site done Jordan. Is adsense earnings from the new photo site? I've manage to post 50-60 photos on my site. I like how you're doing bulk uploads, I will need to research it myself. I don't mind doing it manually but it does get tedious. Do let know what your traffic is like. With the photos I have posted so far, I'm getting about 6 visitors a day. It's about a 10% ratio compared to number of posts. I hope the visitor ratio is similar when I get 1k photos up, which should bring in about 100 visitors daily. I like the way you setup your ads I will most likely follow a similar route. Still have to get a single click. But clicks for captainkimo.com has gone up. I'm averaging about $100 usd a month now. Anyhow keep us posted and I'll keep you posted on my results.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
ReplyDeleteIts still 'version 0.1' for now, but it's a good start.
The bulk uploader is superb (especially for you who probably has all the exif data intact on all your photos).
I definitely think having the AdSense sandwich on all the main photo pages will increase earnings a lot (which although it may not look pretty - is the whole point of the exercise)...
By the way, $100 a month is very good from AdSense when I really struggled to actually find the AdSense ads.
ReplyDeleteThanks for mentioning YABB Jordan. I remember installing the plugin before but never installed the bulk uploader which makes it perfect for uploading tons of photos and posts. I have a few tips for you too. I'll do a post when I have some time.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Do come back soon. I can use all the tips I can get :-)
