July 2008 Photo Related Earnings (Mostly Adsense And Image Rights Sales)



July 2008 Adsense earnings= $574. Traffic is down slightly again in July compared to June due to the summer holidays I guess...

July 2008 earnings from selling hi-res photos / rights to use my photos = $210*

July 2008 Chitika earnings = $18

Project Wonderful - July 2008 earnings = $3.16

Total Earnings For July 2008 = approx $800.


If anyone would like to know any further details - let me know, and I'll try my best to reply....


*Most of my hi-res photo sales / 'rights to use photos on commercial web site' fees in July were done in UK Pounds Sterling (GBP) - so I have given the approximate US Dollar value at an exchange rate of 2 Dollars to 1 Pound.

Also - $100 of this amount was due to me finding one of my images which had been used without permission in a flash animation by a local web design firm.

This sort of thing happens all the time, and usually the 'web design firm' is just a cheap, amateur operation where the cost in your own time in getting any financial renumeration would outweigh the reward greatly.

But in this case it was a fairly big firm with fairly big clients. So I gave them a ring and asked for some financial renumeration. To their credit they rang me back promptly and apologized profusely, and sounded extremely relieved when I only asked for 50 GBP.

** A very small amount of my Adsense earnings come from non-photo related web sites - but rest assured, it is *very* small.

*** The *vast* majority of my earnings come from http://www.irishviews.com

**** (I know, I know, how many footnotes can you possibly have in one blog post?) Please note - I do have outgoings (travel, hosting, paying contributors) - and I don't know off the top of my head exactly what that amounts to but the only really significant one is travel expenses.

  2. How come your Chitika earnings is minus?? I'm not using Chitika so I don't know anything about it.
