April 2008 Earnings (Mostly Adsense)
March 2008 Adsense earnings- $693*. This would have been closer to $750 if I had not replaced some of my Adsense ad units with Chitika ads.
Chitika - $79 - April 2008 was my first full month running Chitika adverts. It has performed fairly well for me. I even tried replacing the 3rd Adsense advert on all my pages that were large enough to hold 3 ad blocks, and found that it almost gave the same returns as the Adsense block - approx 20% less. So I have changed my 3rd ad block back to Adsense again. But it was hard to find a product category in Chitika that suited my web site 100% (irishviews.com) - and I am sure that they would work better than Adsense on many other web sites. The only way to find out is to try it for a while!
I am still using Chitika adverts on other parts of my pages - and it does bring in some extra revenue with very little hassle. I particularly like their new 'White Space' adverts which are a really great idea. If you have a site that has a fixed width design, and you get a reasonable proportion of visitors who have a monitor resolution higher than that of your site, it automatically put adverts in the space that would otherwise be blank. This is still in Beta I believe - and does not earn me a lot yet - but I think is has excellent potential..
At any rate - even if they do not work quite as well as Adsense, it is nice to be able to reduce your reliance on Google for all your income...

No, nothing has changed in the past 3 months.

I am very confused, how much money can WE make from photo's, I just dont get this website; needs to be more explained if we can make money

ReplyDeleteVery brief summary - put up loads of good quality, free photos that are easy to find - and then make money from advertising..
If you have enough time, and a half decent camera - you can make half decent money doing this.
A custom web site is better, but you could do the same thing from a blog..
These earnings are great.

I spent about 6 or 7 hours on irishviews.com and at least a couple on my blog last month (my blog makes practically nothing).
On the face of it - this sounds like a lot of money for very ltitle work - but you ahve to take into account the HUGE number of hours I have spent building up the web site and taking photos over the years during which I was earning very little..
